“It’s easy to make the right choice when it’s the easy choice. It’s the hard ones that define you.”
In my career, I’ve had to make decisions that hurt financially, frustrated colleagues, and slowed momentum—on purpose. I once pulled a lab test from the market because it didn’t meet clinical standards for its intended population, even though it technically passed analytical benchmarks. The backlash was intense—but protecting patients is never negotiable.
These moments test your spine, especially when competitors take shortcuts or others urge you to do the same. But what I’ve found is this: doing the hard right over the easy wrong builds trust, loyalty, and reputation—not just with others, but with yourself.
Ask yourself: What’s your integrity worth?
